Food Handler Course Overview
Learn the skills and knowledge required to handle food safely and hygienically during the storage, preparation, display, service and disposal of food.
The Food Handler course will help you develop safe and hygienic handling practices by providing you with a better understanding of food safety programs. The principles of the ANZFS Code and food safety systems such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (or HACCP) and Covid19 legislative requirements.
Entry Requirements
While there are no entry requirements for this course, your language, literacy and numeracy skills will be assessed to enable us to gauge any additional support requirements.
Accreditation

Fees
Option 1: $90 – Online (Self-Paced) + Practical (~1 hour)
Option 2: $125 – Classroom: Full Day (8 hours)

Course Details
Option 1: Online + Virtual/Practical
Delivery Mode
This course completed mostly online with a short practical assessment conducted either Virtually (from any location) OR in person at our Perth CBD Classroom.
Duration
Online Learning & Assessment (~8 hours) – Can be completed at your own pace 100% online.
Practical Assessment (~1hr) – Can be completed by Audio/Video upload OR in person at our Perth CBD Classroom.
Maximum timeframe for completion is 3 months from enrolment date.
Assessment
The type of assessment tasks include:
- Knowledge activities
- Practical demonstration
- Oral questioning
- Direct observation
- Role play
*Timeframes for assessment completion depend on individual progress.
Option 2: Classroom: Full Day
Delivery Mode
This is a face-to-face course completed in our Perth CBD classroom.

1 x full day (8 hours)

*Timeframes for assessment completion depend on individual progress.
Breaks are provided to enable students to enjoy food and beverages from the surrounding hospitality venues. Students may bring their own lunch, however Streamline does not provide facilities for heating or refrigeration. Due to work health and safety, hot drinks are not provided by Streamline Training.

Complete the majority of your course Online at your own pace. Then either join us via Video Call, upload Video/Audio or come to our Perth Classroom to complete a short practical assessment when it suits you.
